making small bookshops more accessible to the advantages of e-commerce!
-
the brand
Believing that bookshops still play a key role in a society's cultural and literary access and enrichment, RELI (Rede de Livrarias Independentes) was founded as an association made up of bookshops from all over Portugal with no connection to the chains of the big publishing and bookselling groups.
-
the challenge
Through its intervention with society and public authorities, RELI seeks to protect and support small bookshops that are struggling to cope with the crisis in the book market, which jeopardises their very existence.
-
the story
In association with Imprensa Casa da Moeda (INCM), RELI relied on us to develop a project that would make some of the digital resources accessible to small booksellers and draw readers' attention to new possibilities for acquiring books beyond the large publishing groups.

To this end, we have developed the new RELI marketplace platform, a website where all member booksellers can upload their catalogues and receive order and reservation requests.

Through an intuitive interface, each bookshop will be able to post information on the books it has available for sale (new, used or even rare editions), with advantages at the point of contact with the consumer.
Users can search in four different ways: new books, used books, rare books or by searching by title, where they will find all the results from booksellers who have the title for the book they’re looking for available.

With a few clicks, the user can formalise the booking or order of the book and anticipate the date of collection from the selected bookshop.

As well as searching for books, users will also be able to see which independent bookshops are closest to their location - seeking to increase the awareness of small bookshops among consumers when they choose bookshops to buy their books.

In a simple and easy-to-manage back-office solution, RELI, in association with INCM, is bringing the public closer to small bookshops and their varied and often exclusive catalogue.
