Since 1989, MAKRO Portugal, the Portuguese subsidiary of the German group METRO, has been one of the main trusted brands in the HoReCa Channel, with a network of wholesale shops selling products for restaurants, hotels and cafés throughout the country.

Faced with new market challenges, MARKO sought to maintain its prominent position and strengthen its ties with customers. The aim was to make shopping more convenient and digital.

To achieve these goals, MAKRO Portugal relied on our support to energise campaigns and design content for marketing pieces.

We produced digital brochures that we communicated through periodic, themed newsletters. We also developed an e-mail marketing strategy aimed at new target audiences (SCOs and Traders), with exclusive promotions.

We also created landing pages, banners, and highlights for new services, including the DISH platform, the Click&Collect service and the HoReCa Consulting line. A form facilitated the contact and customer support process.

We ensured the launch of communication pop-ups for Own Business Day and for the new MAKRO COMPANION app, an alternative to the traditional MAKRO card with purchasing advantages.
The creation of a blog area producing articles on the food and catering world has not only made MAKRO a source of information but has also helped optimise search engines (SEO) and position the brand as a specialist in the sector.

MAKRO Portugal has succeeded in making shopping more convenient and digital for its HoReCa channel customers, further strengthening its leadership. The digital marketing strategy, including digital leaflets, targeted email marketing and informative content, has contributed to the brand's continued success in the market.
